Description
Sarah Belle Reid is a composer and sound artist based in the United States, working at the intersection of experimental composition, electroacoustic music and spatial sound practice. Her work often explores physicality, density and the perceptual limits of sound, combining instrumental writing, electronics and sustained sonic pressure. Reid’s practice is informed by contemporary experimental music, drone traditions and performance-based sound, emphasizing listening as a bodily and immersive experience.
MASS is released in 2025 as an LP on Aurora Central, presenting a focused and intense exploration of sonic weight, resonance and accumulation. The album unfolds through slowly evolving textures and sustained sonic masses, where subtle internal movement replaces overt gesture or narrative development. Rather than progressing linearly, the music operates through density and duration, inviting deep listening and heightened awareness of timbre and spatial interaction. As a carefully presented vinyl edition, MASS reflects Aurora Central’s commitment to contemporary experimental sound practices and stands as a compelling document of Reid’s material-driven approach to composition.
