This is a cassette release on Goaty Tapes / House Rules, released on October 20, 2025. It gathers more archival and rarely heard material from the late Darrell DeVore, drawn from his private cache of home-recorded cassettes.

Musically, this third volume continues DeVore’s exploration of what he called “sound magic”: ritualistic patterns, polyrhythmic layerings, fifth-world synth textures, and organic improvisation. The recordings evoke earthy ceremonies and otherworldly landscapes — a hybrid of free jazz, synthesized ethnoscapes, and spontaneous collective performances.

In tracks such as Sound Magic: Music Grows, DeVore’s voice, synth, and tape hiss become an integrated field, offering a meditation on growth, decay, and transformation.

This volume feels like the closing statement of a trilogy: not simply archival, but deeply lived — a personal ritual, a sonic autobiography, and a sonic legacy distilled onto analog tape.
